        "content": "<p>East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has confirmed the\nprovince\u2019s full readiness to conduct the 2026 Lebaran transport\noperations across land, sea, air, and rail networks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to build maximum and detailed synergy for the organisation\nof Lebaran transport \u2014 whether by land, sea, air, rail, or toll road \u2014\nso that everything runs smoothly, safely, and securely, bringing\nhappiness to all,\u201d Khofifah said in a statement in Surabaya on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n<p>According to surveys, an estimated 27.29 million people, equivalent\nto 17.3 per cent of total national movement, are expected to travel to\nEast Java. Meanwhile, public transport passenger movements in the\nprovince for 2026 are projected to increase from 7.3 million to 7.7\nmillion passengers, a rise of 5.19 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Khofifah affirmed that the East Java provincial government and\nstakeholders have prepared anticipatory and mitigative measures, ranging\nfrom security posts, integrated command posts, and service stations to\nthe strengthening of rest areas, tourist spots, and congestion-prone\nzones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the event of traffic accidents, conditions must not worsen due to\ndelayed evacuation. The presence of 24-hour community health centres\nconnected to the nearest hospitals will be crucial for anticipation,\u201d\nshe said.<\/p>\n<p>She also stressed the importance of collaboration between the\nRegional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the Meteorology,\nClimatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to anticipate the impact of\nthe ongoing rainy season affecting several areas.<\/p>\n<p>For Lebaran 2026, the East Java provincial government will once again\nopen the Kraksaan\u2013Gending toll road section in Situbondo for travellers\nheading to the eastern regions. Khofifah requested that Pertamina\nprovide portable fuel stations along the route to anticipate a surge in\nusers.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding ferry crossings, the provincial government has prepared\ncontingency plans for congestion, particularly at Ketapang Port, which\ncoincides with Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence) celebrations. The port\nwill be closed from 18 March at 17:00 Western Indonesian Time until 20\nMarch at 06:00.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year we actually face a shortage of sea vessels, particularly\non the Jangkar route to the Sumenep islands. Specifically for the\nupcoming Nyepi closure, approximately three additional vessels will be\nneeded,\u201d Khofifah said.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, the East Java provincial government provides free\nhomecoming transport, particularly for island communities, covering both\noutbound and return journeys.<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, Khofifah expressed appreciation for the\noperational optimisation of Dhoho Airport, which now serves Super Air\nJet flights three times a week to strengthen connectivity in southern\nEast Java.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, the East Java provincial government has prepared 6,637\nbuses, 148 train sets, 302 aircraft, 55 sea vessels, and 71 ferry boats\nwith a total of 241 trips across all terminals, airports, stations, and\nports.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, 8,991 personnel have been deployed from the provincial\nand district\/city Transport Agencies, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), and\nthe maritime sector including PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.<\/p>",
