Surabaya (ANTARA) - The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar\nParawansa, has commended seven representatives from East Java for\nachieving the 2026 National Wana Lestari awards, securing three First\nBest, three Second Best, and one Third Hopeful distinction.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, seven representatives from East Java have achieved\nproud accomplishments at the national level. On behalf of the East Java\nProvincial Government and the entire community, I express my\ncongratulations and gratitude for the extraordinary dedication in\nmaintaining forest sustainability while simultaneously empowering the\ncommunity,\u201d said East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa in Surabaya\non Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The three East Java representatives who achieved the First Best\ndistinction are Johan Prasetyo, S.Hut., from the Jabalnusra Regional\nForestry Law Enforcement Agency in the Forest Police (Polhut) category;\nHendro Supeno from Wringin Putih Village, Muncar District, Banyuwangi\nRegency, in the Community Self-Reliance Forestry Extension (PKSM)\ncategory; and the Sumber Lestari Forest Farmer Group (KTH) led by\nSungkono from Samar Village, Pagerwojo District, Tulungagung\nRegency.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, three East Java representatives achieved the Second Best\ndistinction: Rudiyanto in the Nature Conservation Cadre (KKA) category;\nthe Pelita Nature Lovers Group (KPA) in the Nature Lovers Group\ncategory; and the Wilis Sejahtera Village Institution from Madiun\nRegency in the Village Forest Management Approval Holder (HD)\ncategory.<\/p>\n
One additional award was achieved by KP Lesung Gemilang Sejahtera\nwith the national Third Hopeful distinction in the Community Forest\nManagement Approval Holder (HKm) category.<\/p>\n
Khofifah stated that these achievements demonstrate that forest\nconservation in East Java has evolved into a collective movement\ninvolving both the government and the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese award recipients are real examples that forest conservation\ncan go hand in hand with increasing productivity and community welfare.\nSustainable forests provide not only ecological benefits but also\nsustainable social and economic benefits,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Five awards in the KTH, PKSM, Polhut, KKA, and KPA categories were\npresented by the Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, during the 2026\nNational Wana Lestari Award Exemplary Work Meeting in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
As for the Village Forest and Community Forest categories, the awards\nwere presented by the Director General of Social Forestry, Catur Endah\nPrasetiani, as part of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the\nRepublic of Indonesia in Jakarta on Thursday (13\/8).<\/p>\n
Nationally, the 2026 Wana Lestari Awards were presented to 63\nrecipients across 20 categories. Khofifah hopes that the recipients from\nEast Java can expand and replicate good forest management practices in\nother regions.<\/p>\n
