        "content": "<p>Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that\nthe Indonesian government and South Korea discussed several strategic\nissues in a bilateral meeting, including the continuation of the KF-21\nor IF-X fighter jet project.<\/p>\n<p>Airlangga said that President Prabowo Subianto is committed to\ncontinuing discussions on the project by sending a technical team to\nSouth Korea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the bilateral meeting, one of the issues raised was related to\nIF-X, and the President stated that a team will be sent soon, both\ntechnical and engineering,\u201d Airlangga said in his statement, quoted from\nthe Presidential Secretariat\u2019s YouTube on Thursday (2\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Airlangga mentioned that there are still several technical issues\nbeing discussed, including specifications. The government is also\nopening options for new payment schemes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are indeed technical issues related to specifications and\nothers, but it is hoped that this will be resolved by sending the team\nthere,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>The bilateral meeting also discussed trade issues. One of them is\nrelated to the halal certification of food and beverage products from\nSouth Korea.<\/p>\n<p>Airlangga said that five institutions in South Korea have signed a\nMutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with the Halal Product Assurance\nOrganising Agency (BPJPH).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the halal issue is already clear with Korea,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The government is committed to providing equal treatment to South\nKorea, just like other partner countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hope is that what is given to other countries is also the same\nas what we give to Korea, and that is given on a level playing field,\u201d\nAirlangga said.<\/p>\n<p>These discussions are part of efforts to strengthen bilateral\nrelations between the two countries in the defence, trade, and\ninvestment sectors.<\/p>",
