The National Road Implementation Unit (Satker PJN) for the Special\nRegion of Yogyakarta (DIY) has stated that the progress of the Kewek\nBridge revitalisation in Yogyakarta currently stands at 42%. The Satker\nPJN is optimistic that the Kewek Bridge can be passed before the\nChristmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope that it will be completed before Nataru. While the\nProvisional Handover (PHO) is scheduled for December, we are striving to\nensure it can be used before the holiday period,\u201d said the Head of\nSatker PJN DIY, Tisara Sita, when met by reporters in Kretek, Bantul, on\nMonday (14\/09\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cAs of yesterday, 13 September 2026, the progress of the Kewek Bridge\nis 42%,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
Tisara explained that completed works currently include the bore pile\nfoundations. Bore piles are deep foundations in the form of long tubes\ninserted into the ground to support heavy structural loads.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurrently, we are conducting what is known as the PDA test,\u201d she\nsaid. The Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) test is a dynamic testing method\nused on pile foundations to measure load-bearing capacity, structural\nintegrity, and energy transfer efficiency.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce the testing is complete and the results are satisfactory, we\nwill proceed with the reinforcement of the abutments,\u201d she stated.\nAbutment reinforcement involves the assembly and installation of steel\nreinforcement within the bridge\u2019s substructure. Additionally, work on\nthe secant piles on the side of the structure has also been\ncompleted.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are targeting the girder erection\u2014the process of lifting, moving,\nand installing the longitudinal beams onto supports such as pillars or\nabutments\u2014for early October,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Previously, the National Road Implementation Unit (Satker PJN) for\nthe Yogyakarta region disclosed the latest progress regarding the Kewek\nBridge revitalisation project in Danurejan, Yogyakarta City. The\nCommitment Making Officer (PPK) 1.1 of Satker PJN DIY, Ersy Perdhana,\nnoted that the construction work for the replacement of the Kewek Bridge\nis ongoing, with the target for completion remaining unchanged for the\nend of the year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe current progress involves the selection of providers using the\nE-Purchasing Mini Competition method,\u201d Ersy said when contacted on\nMonday (20\/04\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cPhysical work is planned to commence in May, with a completion\ntarget of late December,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Ersy further detailed the scope of the construction work for the\nKewek Bridge replacement. Beyond the physical structure, the approach\nroads will also be refurbished. The existing bridge is being demolished\nto make way for a new structure featuring a girder beam system,\nmeasuring 30 metres in length and 16 metres in width, comprising 11\nmetres of asphalt and a 2.5 x 2-metre pavement for pedestrians.<\/p>\n
