        "content": "<p>Implementation will begin in 2027, once local governments have\nprepared all necessary mechanisms and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The Riau Islands Provincial Education Department (Disdik Kepri)\nannounced that a ban on senior high school and vocational students\nbringing mobile phones to schools will take effect in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Disdik Kepri Head Andi Agung stated the ban is based on Minister of\nCommunications and Digital Regulation No.\u00a09 of 2026, which is derived\nfrom Government Regulation No.\u00a017 of 2025 on Electronic System\nManagement for Child Protection (PP TUNAS).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This year is not feasible for implementation. It will commence in\n2027 after local governments have prepared all mechanisms and\nregulations,\u2019 said Andi Agung.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Disdik Kepri will soon form a socialisation team to\ninform all senior high schools and vocational schools, including parents\nand students.<\/p>\n<p>Andi Agung continued that restricting mobile phone use in schools is\nnecessary to improve student concentration during lessons.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he said the policy aims to reduce potential misuse of\ndevices among students, including access to digital content deemed\ninappropriate for school-age children.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This policy applies nationwide as per the Ministry of Communications\nand Digital\u2019s instruction, not just in Kepri,\u2019 he added.<\/p>",
