        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and\nTechnology (Kemdiktisaintek) is striving to build a research ecosystem\nfocused on tangible impacts and cross-sector collaboration through a\nresearch consortium approach.<\/p>\n<p>The Director General of Research and Development at Kemdiktisaintek\nRI, Fauzan Adziman, explained that the consortium is directed towards\ncollaboratively resolving various national strategic issues, with an\nappropriate approach through methods, frameworks, and measurable\nindicators to enhance the downstreaming of higher education research\noutcomes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe consortium approach is important for uniting the strengths of\nhigher education institutions in addressing national strategic issues.\nWith directed collaboration and the use of appropriate methods and\nindicators, the downstreaming of research outcomes can proceed more\neffectively,\u201d he said in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Fauzan explained that the government is promoting the strengthening\nof the research ecosystem through the integration of various funding\nsources, including ministry budgets, support from research institutions,\nand the utilisation of endowment funds to ensure programme\nsustainability while improving the effectiveness of national research\nfunding.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, research policy directions are focused on a\nproblem-based approach, with priorities on strategic issues such as food\nsecurity, climate change, and health.
