Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and\nTechnology (Kemdiktisaintek) has opened opportunities to strengthen\nhigher education, science, technology, and research cooperation between\nIndonesia and Flinders University, South Australia.<\/p>\n
Director General of Science and Technology at Kemdiktisaintek, Ahmad\nNajib Burhani, expressed appreciation for the existing relationship\nbetween Indonesia and Australia in the fields of higher education,\nscience, and technology. \u201cCollaboration with Australian universities and\nacademic communities is one of the best ways to build quality academic\npractices, not just listing names in publications, but presenting real\ncollaboration between the Indonesian and Australian academic\ncommunities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Najib also noted that Australia is one of the popular study\ndestinations for Indonesian students. Beyond higher education, relations\nbetween the two countries continue to develop through various research\ncollaborations and human resource capacity building. Common forms of\ncooperation include joint research, curriculum and academic programme\ndevelopment, scientific seminars or conferences, dual degree programmes,\nand student exchanges.<\/p>\n
\u201cKemdiktisaintek also continues to encourage international research\ncollaboration through partnerships with universities and research\ninstitutions in various countries,\u201d he stated. Najib mentioned that both\ncountries have been cooperating through several research funding\nschemes, including the Australia-Indonesia Knowledge, Innovation, and\nTechnology Collaboration (Koneksi) programme, which supports\ncollaborative research in priority areas such as energy transition,\ndigital transformation, education, and environmental and health\nissues.<\/p>\n
In response, Vice-Chancellor and President of Flinders University,\nColin Stirling, appreciated the opportunity for dialogue with\nKemdiktisaintek and affirmed the university\u2019s commitment to continue\nstrengthening ties with various institutions in Indonesia through\neducation and research. Meanwhile, the South Australian delegation\noutlined various initiatives that have been and are being undertaken to\nstrengthen connectivity between higher education institutions, industry,\nand the innovation ecosystem.
