West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, commonly known as KDM, has imposed a
total ban on favouritism in the 2026 New Student Admission System (SPMB)
for School Maung. He warned school principals and selection committee
members involved in cheating that they face dismissal and legal action.
“No elite school should have students admitted through favours from
anyone, for any reason,” KDM said, as quoted by Antara on Saturday (30
May). He stressed that the provincial government-established elite
schools were created solely to transparently select the best academic
and non-academic students. Therefore, all education officials must
maintain integrity and avoid nepotism. To deter violations, the West
Java Provincial Government has prepared administrative sanctions such as
dismissal, as well as social and criminal penalties for those involved.
“I will not hesitate to dismiss school principals, committee members, or
anyone involved in the disreputable admission process,” he added. KDM
confirmed that the provincial government will pursue legal action
against those proven to have cheated in the admissions process. He
stated that the practice of favouritism must not undermine the goal of
School Maung to produce high-quality human resources. “There must be no
culture of favouritism, and we will not hesitate to prosecute anyone
found guilty of misconduct,” he said. As part of transparency measures,
the provincial government plans to publicly disclose the identities of
those who attempt to place their children in elite schools in violation
of procedures. “We will inform the public of anyone who tries to secure
admission for their child in an elite school by breaching transparency
and excellence principles,” he added. Through strict oversight, Governor
Dedi Mulyadi hopes the 2026 SPMB will mark a turning point for an
objective education system free from power or financial interference.
“Let us ensure our children become high achievers without parental
interference,” he said. School Maung comprises 41 state senior high
schools (SMA) and vocational schools (SMK) across West Java, with online
registration taking place from 25 to 29 May 2026. The designated schools
in Bekasi include State Senior High School 1 Bekasi City, State Senior
High School 2 Tambun Selatan in Bekasi Regency, and State Vocational
School 2 Bekasi City. These schools will not implement a zoning system
but will rely solely on the SPMB process.
",
