West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, together with several regents and\nmayors in West Java (Jabar), conducted the signing of a Joint Agreement\non Urban Waste Management through Environmentally Friendly Waste\nProcessing Technology into Electricity Energy (PSEL).<\/p>\n
The development of PSEL will be carried out at two locations in\nJabar, namely the Sarimukti Final Disposal Site (TPA) in West Bandung\nRegency and Kayumanis Ward in Bogor City.<\/p>\n
The PSEL at TPA Sarimukti will be utilised by the communities of\nBandung City, Cimahi City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency,\nCianjur Regency, and Purwakarta Regency. Meanwhile, the Kayumanis Bogor\nPSEL will process waste from the communities of Bogor City and Depok\nCity.<\/p>\n
KDM, as Dedi Mulyadi is known, stated that this agreement represents\na directive from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo\nSubianto, to resolve a long-standing acute problem.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing the President\u2019s directive, we can solve an acute problem\nthat has persisted for decades, consuming a vast budget,\u201d said KDM in a\nwritten statement on Monday (13\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
This was conveyed by KDM at Menara Selatan, Plaza Kuningan, Jl. H.R.\nRasuna Said Kav. C11-14, Karet Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on\nTuesday (7\/4).<\/p>\n
Previously, the government had conducted study visits to several\ncountries, such as Japan, China, and Germany, to address this issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was a supplementary proposal I made myself during the meeting.\nI view Sarimukti as an ideal location for managing waste into\nelectricity energy. And today, we all agree that it will be managed by\nDanantara, and moving forward, our task at the regency and city levels,\u201d\nexplained KDM.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq,\nstated that this agreement is one way to disseminate decisions from\nleaders at both central and provincial levels.<\/p>\n
Hanif also expressed appreciation to the West Java Provincial\nGovernment and all regencies\/cities for their very quick response in\nfollowing up on President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s directive to implement\nPSEL.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President, through Presidential Regulation No.\u00a0109 of 2025 on\nwaste processing into electricity energy, has outlined that cities or\nurban agglomerations with waste accumulation exceeding 1,000 tons per\nday should be addressed through waste-to-energy technology approaches,\u201d\nsaid Hanif.<\/p>\n
Hanif hopes that after this signing, regional heads will promptly\ncomplete the necessary documents to proceed to the next stage.<\/p>\n
