One of them is through the formation of Red and\nWhite Village\/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP), which is touted to\nbecome the driving force for the people\u2019s economy at the grassroots\nlevel. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan,\nemphasised that KDKMP is designed to provide protection while improving\nthe welfare of farmers and livestock breeders. This programme is also\npart of President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s grand vision in building new\neconomic growth centres in villages. According to Zulhas, the\nagricultural produce distribution chain has so far been too long, thus\ndisadvantaging producers at the grassroots level.
