Kaspari meets Tiranov<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Andrian Kaspari meets defending champion Russian
\nAlexander Tiranov in a bout for the International Boxing
\nFederation Intercontinental bantamweight crown in Surabaya, East
\nJava, today.<\/p>\n
"I don't promise that I will win on points or by a knockout.
\nI'll just try to do my best," Kaspari said.<\/p>\n
Kaspari, who has a record of 9-0 (all by knockouts), said he
\nstudied his Russian opponent's brawling style on video and that
\nequipped him with some knowledge about Tiranov.<\/p>\n
"I have learned Tiranov's weaknesses and strengths and am
\nready for a 12-round bout against him," the Surabaya pugilist
\nsaid, not daring to make boastful statements, Antara reported.<\/p>\n
Tiranov, on the other hand, said he believed he would retain
\nhis title because he had made good preparations technically,
\nphysically and mentally even though he is yet to discover
\nKaspari's style.<\/p>\n
"I know nothing about Andrian, but I'll try to win and defend
\nmy title," Tiranov said. His record is 6-1 (3).<\/p>\n
The other cards today will feature a junior welterweight World
\nBoxing Federation bout between Ajib Albarado of Indonesia against
\nDindo Canoy of the Philippines, junior bantamweight IBF
\nIntercontinental bout between Ricky Matulesi of Indonesia and
\nShakhumzi Magxwalisa of South Africa.<\/p>\n
Indonesia's Nurhuda will also be tried by Vuyusile Tinga of
\nSouth Africa in another title bout for the featherweight IBF
\nIntercontinental belt.<\/p>\n
IBF president Robert Lee is scheduled to witness the world
\nchampionship.<\/p>\n
"Robert Lee will observe our national boxers' quality,
\nespecially Andrian Kaspari, Ricky Matulesi and Ajib Albarado, for
