        "content": "<p>Kartika holds painting exhibition<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Kartika Affandi, daughter of the late Affandi,<br>\nis holding a painting exhibition at the gallery of the Ministry<br>\nof Education and Culture in Gambir, Central Jakarta, to celebrate<br>\nher 20-year career as an expressionist painter.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition of 75 works was opened Wednesday evening by<br>\nNunus Supardi, secretary to the director general of culture at<br>\nthe Ministry of Education and Culture. It will last until Aug.<br>\n13.<\/p>\n<p>The displayed paintings include Kartika's latest work called<br>\nPenari dan Topengku, which tells of her desire to be a dancer,<br>\nand another work named Kepalaku Pecah, which has a goat's brain<br>\nas its model.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition also features a portrait of Kartika's late<br>\nfather Affandi, known as one of Indonesia's greatest painters.<\/p>\n<p>These paintings are not for sale, Kartika said at the opening<br>\nceremony.
