Karet Station has officially been closed temporarily from 1 September\nuntil 31 December 2026 to support the revitalisation and construction of\nsupporting facilities for integration with BNI City Station, also known\nas Sudirman Baru. Vice President Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter,\nKarina Amanda, stated that the first day of the station closure\nproceeded smoothly.<\/p>\n
Commuter Line users accessing the Karet Station area are being\nredirected to BNI City Station via the Jalan Haji Mas Mansyub access\nroute.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the evaluation of the first day of integration between\nKaret Station and Sudirman Baru Station, the process has been quite\nconducive,\u201d said Karina on Tuesday (1\/9).<\/p>\n
She added that KAI Commuter will continue to monitor the condition of\nKRL passengers in the field, particularly during morning and evening\npeak hours. This monitoring is being conducted to ensure that passenger\ntransfers to BNI City Station take place seamlessly.<\/p>\n
Karina noted that the morning peak hours for the Commuter Line occur\nbetween 06:00 and 09:00 WIB, while evening peak density is monitored\nfrom approximately 15:30 to 20:00 WIB.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, KAI Commuter has ensured that the closure of Karet\nStation does not alter the number of Commuter Line trips passing through\nthe area. A total of 264 KRL trips per day will continue to operate.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, there is no change in terms of the frequency of operating\nCommuter Line services,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Karina explained that the closure of Karet Station is part of a\nservice improvement initiative, while also considering operational\nsafety aspects of train travel. The integration with BNI City Station,\nshe noted, is being carried out so that passenger facilities and access\ncan be developed in a more integrated manner.<\/p>\n
In the final stage of construction, the Karet Station area will\nfunction as a passenger way or an integration path leading to BNI City\nStation. Supporting infrastructure for passengers will also be added to\nenhance comfort and service.<\/p>\n
