The suspected corruption case involving the procurement of decorative\nPublic Street Lighting (LPJU) projects, handled by the Karangasem\nDistrict Prosecutor\u2019s Office (Kejari), has now entered the investigation\nstage. The prosecutor\u2019s office has also received laboratory test results\non a number of components in the decorative LPJU project.<\/p>\n
Head of the Karangasem District Prosecutor\u2019s Office, Shinta Ayu Dewi\nRR, said the suspected LPJU corruption case was escalated to the\ninvestigation stage a month ago. The results of the physical examination\nor laboratory tests have now been received.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have received the laboratory test results; the next stage will be\nthe calculation of state losses,\u201d Shinta said on Tuesday (4\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
Laboratory tests were carried out on the electrical and construction\naspects, involving experts from outside Bali. The examination aimed to\ndetermine whether the current condition of the construction matches the\noriginal construction at the time of installation.<\/p>\n
Shinta stressed that the handling of the case would continue to be\nsupervised until its completion or until suspects are named. The\nprosecutors handling the case have also been asked to remain focused so\nthat the legal process runs through to a verdict.<\/p>\n
To date, the investigating team has continued to examine a number of\nwitnesses to complete the body of evidence and deepen the investigation.\nAfter that, the process will continue with the calculation of state\nlosses by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully the handling of this case will proceed well and smoothly,\nso that suspects can be named soon,\u201d Shinta said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of the Special Crimes Section at the Karangasem\nDistrict Prosecutor\u2019s Office, I Gede Hady S, said the investigation into\nthe suspected decorative LPJU corruption case is still ongoing. A number\nof witnesses have been questioned since the start of the case, and\ninvestigators remain open to conducting further examinations if\nnecessary.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe (the prosecutor\u2019s office) have also engaged external experts to\ncarry out examinations focused on three main components of the project,\ncovering the lamps, panels, batteries, LPJU poles, construction and\nother ornaments,\u201d Hady said.<\/p>\n
With the laboratory tests completed, the next stage of the legal\nprocess points towards the calculation of state losses, which will serve\nas the basis for handling the case. The prosecutor\u2019s office hopes the\ninvestigation can proceed smoothly.<\/p>\n
