Pontianak (ANTARA) - Pertamina Patra Niaga is optimising the\nTayan-Sanggau Buffer Terminal to strengthen the distribution of fuel,\nparticularly Biosolar, to the upper regions of West Kalimantan following\nthe receding levels of the Kapuas River.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough the Tayan-Sanggau Buffer Terminal, we are strengthening the\ndistribution capacity of Biosolar while bringing the supply point closer\nto the upper regions of West Kalimantan,\u201d said Edi Mangun, Area Manager\nof Communication, Relations & CSR for PT Pertamina Patra Niaga\nRegional Kalimantan, in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Edi stated that the facility has been operational since 8 September\n2024 as an additional supply point.<\/p>\n
According to Edi, coordination is being conducted with provincial and\ndistrict governments, as well as relevant stakeholders, to support the\nfacility\u2019s operations and ensure the smooth distribution of fuel.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand the importance of fuel for the mobility and economic\nactivities of the community. Therefore, we continue to optimise\ndistribution so that deliveries to petrol stations continue to reach the\nupper regions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Pertamina advises the public to purchase fuel according to their\nneeds. Information or reports regarding suspected fuel distribution\nirregularities can be submitted via the Pertamina Contact Centre\n135.<\/p>\n
Fuel Terminal Manager for Sintang, Risky Firmansyah, stated that the\nprolonged drought influenced by the El Ni\u00f1o phenomenon has caused the\nshrinkage of the waterways used as fuel distribution routes.<\/p>\n
The receding of the Kapuas River has impacted the access of supply\nships to the Sintang Fuel Terminal as well as alternative terminals in\nSanggau. This condition has prompted Pertamina to adjust delivery routes\nto ensure supplies remain steady.<\/p>\n
\u201cPreviously, distribution was optimised via land routes from the\nPontianak Integrated Terminal. Now, the support of the Tayan-Sanggau\nBuffer Terminal allows Biosolar to be transferred directly from ships to\ntankers through a direct loading system,\u201d said Risky.<\/p>\n
According to him, this pattern allows tankers to transport Biosolar\ndirectly from ships to petrol stations, thereby reducing the distance\nand time required for deliveries to the upper regions.<\/p>\n
The Tayan-Sanggau Buffer Terminal supports the distribution of\nBiosolar to the Sanggau, Sintang, Melawi, Sekadau, and Kapuas Hulu\nregencies. Delivery volumes are adjusted according to the needs of each\nregion and the conditions of the distribution access.<\/p>\n
