Kancil car ready for sale<\/p>\n
BANDUNG, West Java (JP): Automobile manufacturer PT Kurnia
\nAbadi Niaga Citra Indah Lestari (KANCIL) said it would
\ncommercially launch its Kancil car in July this year.<\/p>\n
KANCIL vice president Achdiat A. Suhadi said on Wednesday the
\ncompany would market 250 units in the first year, at prices
\nbetween Rp 35 million (US$3,684) and Rp 37 million.<\/p>\n
The company is targeting the middle of the market in Java, and
\nintends to sell the cars on credit, with installment payments of
\nbetween Rp 30,000 ($3.16) and Rp 40,000 a month, he said.<\/p>\n
He also said offices of the Organization of Land
\nTransportation Owners in several cities in Java, as well as bajaj
\n(three-wheeled motorized vehicle) organizations, had already
\nordered a number of the cars.<\/p>\n
\"We planned this 400 cc car for commercial city transportation
\nwith a radius of 10 kilometers,\" Achdiat said, adding that the
\ncar's operational cost was Rp 1,200 per kilometer.<\/p>\n
The car's gas tank has a capacity of 20 liters, and it gets
\nbetween 15 kilometers and 18 kilometers per liter, he said,
\nadding that its maximum speed was 60 kilometers per hour.<\/p>\n
Achdiat said the company invested Rp 12 billion to produce the
