        "content": "<p>Kamra demands extension of their service<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Accompanied by Yogyakarta&apos;s monarch Sultan<br>\nHamengkubuwono X, 11 representatives of the People&apos;s Security<br>\n(Kamra) converged at the House of Representatives to demand an<br>\nextension of their service on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>In a hearing with the House Deputy Speaker Soetardjo<br>\nSoerjogoeritno, Kamra chairman Rubiyanto said the paramilitary<br>\nmembers wanted the government to absorb them into the Indonesian<br>\nMilitary (TNI), police force or civil service.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The demand is reasonable since we have experience in security<br>\nmatters. We are now worried after learning that we are to be<br>\ndisbanded,&quot; Rubiyanto remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Hamengkubuwono, who is also Yogyakarta&apos;s governor, said the<br>\ndemand was the result of a national meeting of Kamra members in<br>\nYogyakarta recently. The meeting was held as the government had<br>\ndecided not to extend their working contract which will expire at<br>\nthe end this year.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I just helped them deliver their demands through the right<br>\nchannel,&quot; he remarked, hoping that the House would convey their<br>\ndemands to the government.<\/p>\n<p>Soetardjo promised to discuss the demand with the Minister of<br>\nDefense Mohammad Mahfud M.D., National Police chief Gen.
