        "content": "<p>Kalla on business trip to China, Japan<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post<br>\nJakarta<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Jusuf Kalla will meet noted businessmen in China <br>\nand Japan this week as part of an effort to lure investment from <br>\nthe two countries by providing more detailed and updated <br>\ninformation on business conditions in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The visit is also a follow-up to several agreements made by <br>\nbusinessmen and governments from the two countries with Indonesia <br>\nduring an earlier visit by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.<\/p>\n<p>Kalla is scheduled to fly to China early on Tuesday for a two-<br>\nday business trip to open a seminar and exhibition on investment <br>\nand trade opportunities in Indonesia, which is being held by the <br>\nIndonesian Ministry of Trade and a number of business lobby <br>\ngroups.<\/p>\n<p>The following day, he will meet with chief executive officers <br>\nfrom Export-Import Bank of China, China Petroleum and Chemical <br>\nCorp. (Sinopec), China International Trust and Investment Corp. <br>\n(CITIC) and China Huadian Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>Kalla will also meet China's Vice President Zeng Qinghong to <br>\ntalk about bilateral trade, which is expected to reach US$30 <br>\nbillion over the next five years.<\/p>\n<p>China is Indonesia's fourth biggest export destination. Last <br>\nyear's total bilateral trade amounted to over US$8.7 billion, <br>\nwith an annual growth of 18.6 percent in the last five years.<\/p>\n<p>Kalla is slated to fly to Japan on Thursday to attend the <br>\nAICHI expo and to meet executives from Toyota Motor Corp., <br>\nSumitomo Corp., Itochu Corp., Mitsubishi Corp., Marubeni Corp. <br>\nand the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro).<\/p>",
