        "content": "<p>Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)\nDivision I North Sumatra is strengthening its strategic role in the\nnational transportation ecosystem by transporting 11,118 kilolitres (kl)\nof fuel to support the smooth flow of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming in\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Head of Public Relations for KAI Division I North Sumatra,\nAnwar Yuli Prastyo, in Medan, North Sumatra, on Thursday, stated that\nthe company is also helping to maintain energy supply stability for road\ntransport modes experiencing a surge in vehicle volume during the Eid\ntransportation period.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the distribution was carried out over eight days,\nfrom 11 to 18 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 327 tank wagons were deployed via the Labuhan-Siantar and\nLabuhan-Kisaran routes to ensure timely energy distribution to crucial\npoints.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe supply of fuel via rail is a vital part of the energy supply\nchain for land transportation. This contribution directly impacts the\nsmooth homecoming flow and public mobility in the North Sumatra region,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>Anwar detailed that the distribution focused on two main logistics\narteries.<\/p>\n<p>First, towards the Kisaran Fuel Depot to meet energy needs in Asahan\nRegency, Batu Bara Regency, and Tanjungbalai City.<\/p>\n<p>Second, supplies were allocated towards Pematangsiantar to support\nfuel stocks in the Pematangsiantar, Simalungun, Central Tapanuli, and\nSamosir Island areas.<\/p>\n<p>This distribution pattern is designed to ensure energy resilience in\neconomic centres and main tourist routes that are destinations for\nhomecomers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rail mode has advantages in large carrying capacity and\ntimeliness, making it highly efficient in supporting logistics\ndistribution amid dense road traffic,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>KAI Division I North Sumatra also recorded a positive trend in\npassenger transport. Over the period from 11 to 19 March 2026, the total\nnumber of customers served reached 75,266 people.<\/p>\n<p>The peak density of the homecoming flow occurred on H-3 Eid, or\nWednesday (18\/3\/2026), with 10,930 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, on H-2 Eid, or Thursday (19\/3\/2026), 9,970 passengers were\nrecorded as having been dispatched to various destinations, and this\nnumber is predicted to continue increasing as tickets are still\navailable on several routes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see extraordinary enthusiasm from the public, especially for the\nKA Sribilah Utama and Sribilah Fakultatif services, which are favourite\nchoices for returning home,\u201d said Anwar.<\/p>\n<p>KAI Division I North Sumatra continues to ensure that all operational\naspects, both passenger and goods transport, run optimally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur commitment is to provide safe, secure, and reliable\ntransportation services throughout this Eid transportation period,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>",
