        "content": "<p>PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has decided to impose speed\nrestrictions on long-distance trains passing through Bekasi Timur\nStation. \u201cWe are still limiting speeds to 30 kilometres per hour at this\nstation,\u201d said KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin at Bekasi Timur\nStation on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. Bobby explained that Bekasi Timur\nStation has resumed serving long-distance trains and commuter rail (KRL)\nservices following the inter-train accident that occurred on Monday\nnight, 27 April 2026. The downstream line operations were reopened on\nTuesday, 28 April 2026, at 1.30am WIB. Meanwhile, KRL services are\ntargeted to operate at the same frequency starting today. Bobby stated\nthat the reopening of the Cikarang line operations was authorised by the\nNational Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT). Transportation Minister\nDudy Purwagandhi explained that the decision to restrict speeds on\nlong-distance trains was based on recommendations from the National\nTransportation Safety Committee. Dudy assured that before resuming\noperations at Bekasi Timur Station, the Ministry of Transportation, KAI,\nand KNKT conducted tests on the tracks and signalling for both\nlong-distance trains and KRL. Dudy said those tests were carried out to\nensure that Bekasi Timur Station could safely serve passengers again.\n\u201cSafety is the most important thing we want to emphasise to PT KAI in\npreparing for the reopening of Bekasi Timur Station,\u201d he stated.\nPreviously, a fatal accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek train on\nthe Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi route and a Cikarang-bound KRL occurred\nat Bekasi Timur Station on Monday night, 27 April 2026. The accident\nresulted in the deaths of 16 female KRL passengers, as recorded up to\nWednesday, 29 April 2026. KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said the\nevacuation of KRL passengers took about 10 hours. Afterwards, KAI\nremoved the locomotive from the KRL carriages and moved the impacted KRL\nbody from the tracks at Bekasi Timur Station yesterday.
