TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory\nAgency (BP BUMN) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony\nOskaria, stated that the planned merger between state-owned rail\noperator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and state train manufacturer PT\nIndustri Kereta Api (INKA) will be completed before January 2027.<\/p>\n
According to Oskaria, the consolidation process is still ongoing and\nforms part of Danantara\u2019s sector-based restructuring of state-owned\nenterprises.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt should be before January, in fact, it should be. But I\u2019m\nchecking, that\u2019s why I\u2019m checking. We\u2019re in the process of consolidating\neach sector,\u201d Oskaria said in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that the consolidation could be completed before\nJanuary 2027, though he noted he would reconfirm the implementation\ntimeline based on ongoing progress.<\/p>\n
Oskaria also stated that PT INKA will be placed under PT KAI once all\nstages of the corporate consolidation are completed. \u201cYes (PT INKA will\nbe under KAI),\u201d Oskaria said.<\/p>\n
Previously, KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that the\nconsolidation and integration of INKA, is targeted to take effect on\nJanuary 1, 2027, after the company\u2019s due diligence process is\ncomplete.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe consolidation and integration are planned for January 1,\u201d Bobby\nstated during a hearing with Commission VI of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 23.<\/p>\n
Bobby explained that the transaction mechanism (inbreng) process for\nINKA will be carried out in September 2026 under a conditional scheme,\nwhile consolidation and integration will be implemented starting in\nearly 2027.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, the inbreng will be this month, but the inbreng will be\nconditional. So, the plan is to complete the consolidation and\nintegration on January 1,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to Bobby, KAI has completed due diligence on all aspects of\nINKA as part of the integration process. \u201cWe have now conducted due\ndiligence on all aspects of INKA,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Following the integration, INKA will assume a broader role because\nKAI\u2019s railway rolling stock maintenance operations, including the Balai\nYasa train maintenance center, will be integrated into the train\nmanufacturing company.<\/p>\n
Under this scheme, INKA\u2019s activities will encompass not only\nmanufacturing, but also the maintenance and engineering of railway\nrolling stock.<\/p>\n
