        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has announced\nthat, for the time being, Bekasi Timur Station in West Java will not\nhandle passenger boarding and alighting activities, as a result of an\noperational incident that occurred in the area of Bekasi Timur Station,\nDaerah Operasi 1 Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe extend our apologies to all customers for the inconvenience\ncaused. Our primary focus at present is handling the situation on-site\nand ensuring that safety and services for customers continue to be met,\u201d\nstated VP Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba in her statement in\nJakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>KAI has expressed apologies to all customers for the inconvenience\narising from the incident.<\/p>\n<p>According to Anne, customers planning to travel by train may\ntemporarily use services via Bekasi Station until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>Operations on the Bekasi line are still experiencing adjustments in\nline with the on-site handling process.<\/p>\n<p>KAI, she said, is continuously coordinating with all relevant parties\nto accelerate the handling and restoration of services so that\noperations can return to normal as soon as possible. The latest\ninformation will be provided periodically through KAI\u2019s official\nchannels.<\/p>\n<p>For information, three passengers remain trapped, and joint SAR team\npersonnel are implementing a rotation scheme to rescue the victims by\ncutting the iron framework of the KRL carriage at Bekasi Timur Station,\nBekasi, on Tuesday morning at 05:53 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>Basarnas Head Mohammad Syafii, in a video received in Jakarta on\nTuesday, stated that Basarnas personnel and the joint SAR team are using\nheavy extrication equipment to cut parts of the KRL carriage that are\ntrapping the victims\u2019 bodies.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed that they must proceed with full caution and work\neffectively because the KRL carriage space is narrow, considering that\npart of the KA Argo Bromo\u2019s head has entered it.<\/p>\n<p>As such, he continued, the interior of the KRL carriage can only\naccommodate a maximum of 25 SAR personnel, including medical staff.<\/p>\n<p>This fatal incident occurred on Monday (27\/4) evening at 20:55 WIB,\ninvolving KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train number 4 on the Gambir - Surabaya\nPasar Turi route, which collided with a KRL train at Bekasi Timur\nStation (BKST).<\/p>",
