        "content": "<p>KAHMI proposes two-party system<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Muslim Students Alumni Association (KAHMI) suggested <br>\non Saturday that the country adopt a two-party system for the <br>\n2009 elections.<\/p>\n<p>KAHMI leader Abdul Asri Harahap said the system would cut a <br>\nlot of the election costs as well as create political stability.<\/p>\n<p>He said the idea was discussed during the KAHMI congress that <br>\nconcluded on Saturday, Participants in the congress said the <br>\nbiparty system provided a clear-cut political division between <br>\nthe ruling party and opposition that worked well in many <br>\ndemocratic states.<\/p>\n<p>The general elections in April saw 24 parties contending 550 <br>\nseats at the House of Representatives.--Antara<br>\n  Alwi said the new ruling took effect immediately. --Antara<\/p>",
