        "content": "<p>Vice Chairman of the Industry Division of the Indonesian Chamber of\nCommerce and Industry (Kadin), Saleh Husin, has stressed the importance\nof maintaining policy certainty amid ongoing global pressures.\nTherefore, the proposal to delay tax refunds has the potential to\ntrigger uncertainty and disrupt the domestic investment climate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe business world should be given peace of mind and certainty in\noperations, rather than being confronted with policies that could\ncomplicate the business environment, especially in the manufacturing\nsector that employs millions of workers,\u201d Saleh stated in his remarks on\nSaturday, 11 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Saleh said that business actors fundamentally support various\ngovernment programmes, including efforts to create jobs. However, such\nsupport requires a stable business environment and regulatory\ncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBusiness actors affiliated with Kadin Indonesia fully support all\npresidential programmes, including job creation. This can all proceed if\nthere is peace of mind and operational certainty,\u201d said the former\nMinister of Industry.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, in the current uncertain global economic conditions\ndue to tariff wars and geopolitical conflicts, business actors are\ncurrently focused on maintaining business sustainability. Even retaining\nexisting workers is a significant challenge, let alone creating new\njobs.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, a policy that adds uncertainty risks holding back\ninvestment expansion. Moreover, the manufacturing sector, which absorbs\nmillions of workers, is highly dependent on policy stability and a\nconducive business climate.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that tax refunds are the right of the business world\nfor excess tax payments already deposited with the state.<\/p>\n<p>Delaying or halting refunds could potentially create new\ncontroversies and raise investor doubts about legal and policy certainty\nin Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not let policies emerge that create uncertainty and impact\ninvestment interest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Saleh also reminded that the current global economic conditions are\nnot normal. All stakeholders, including the government, legislature,\njudiciary, business world, and academics, need to collaborate to address\nglobal pressures that directly affect the national economy.<\/p>",
