        "content": "<p>JV to build RI pulp mill<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): A consortium of companies from Sweden, Finland,<br>\nthe Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, the United States and China<br>\nwill build a pulp mill in South Kalimantan within the next three<br>\nmonths, provincial Governor Sjachriel Darhan said here on<br>\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters following a meeting with President<br>\nAbdurrahman Wahid, the governor said the consortium would invest<br>\nabout US$1.2 billion to build the pulp plant.<\/p>\n<p>The consortium will utilize raw materials from the industrial<br>\nforest formerly owned by businessman Probosutedjo. It is<br>\nestimated the new mill will provide business for about 200 small<br>\nand medium-size companies in the area, Sjachriel said.<\/p>\n<p>The planned pulp factory is expected to generate export<br>\nearnings of about $350 million a year, the governor said.
