Jusuf Hamka Field on Benyamin Suaeb Street has been designated as the\nevacuation site to facilitate effective data collection and emergency\naid coordination for the fire disaster in Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran,\nCentral Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Director General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home\nAffairs, Safrizal ZA, stated that the evacuation facilities were\nprepared with support from multiple parties.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe temporary shelters are set up to keep residents off the streets\nand allow rest, with logistics provided by BPBD in collaboration with\nthe Social Affairs Office, Red Cross, and Baznas,\u201d Safrizal explained in\nJakarta early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
Three tents have been provided by the Jakarta Social Affairs Office,\nand several logistics vehicles from the Red Cross and BPBD have arrived\nat the site.<\/p>\n
Currently, in-depth data collection is underway for affected\nresidents in two neighbourhood units (RW), namely RW 04 covering five\nneighbourhood blocks (RT 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16) and RW 05 covering\nthree RTs (01, 02, and 03).<\/p>\n
Safrizal explained that the data will include school-age details to\nensure children\u2019s educational needs are met.<\/p>\n
After the emergency situation concludes, the government will conduct\na building inventory and discuss long-term measures for residents. \u201cOnly\nafter all emergencies are resolved will we discuss the process for\nresidents, including possible relocation to safer housing,\u201d Safrizal\nadded.<\/p>\n
The fire, which broke out in the densely populated Kampung Pasar Haji\nUng area on Kemayoran Gempol Street, Kebon Kosong, Central Jakarta,\nbegan around 8.55pm on Monday 1 June 2026.<\/p>\n
Jakarta\u2019s Fire and Rescue Department (Gulkarmat) deployed 35 fire\ntrucks and 165 personnel to extinguish the blaze, suspected to have been\ncaused by an electrical short circuit.<\/p>\n
Head of Jakarta\u2019s Fire and Rescue Department, Bayu Meghantara,\nconfirmed adequate water sources at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, water supply is sufficient,\u201d Bayu said.<\/p>\n
He also confirmed responders were swift in assisting residents\nrequiring medical aid.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome residents were taken to hospital for minor injuries and smoke\ninhalation,\u201d Bayu added.<\/p>\n
During firefighting efforts, residents were seen moving valuables to\nJusuf Hamka Field.<\/p>\n
One resident and Secretary of RT 12-16 in RW 04 Kebon Kosong,\nSupriatin, recounted the panic as flames spread to his home.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had just returned from driving a motorcycle taxi, and the fire was\nalready large. I panicked because my wife was sick at home,\u201d Supriatin\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Supriatin added his wife experienced difficulty breathing due to\nthick smoke at the scene, but all three family members were safe.<\/p>\n
According to current data, the disaster is estimated to have affected\napproximately 250 homes and 330 households.<\/p>\n
