Jakarta (ANTARA) - Police have arrested a man with the initials O, an\nemployee at a juice stall who stole a motorcycle belonging to his own\nboss on Jalan Jati, RT 06 RW 12, East Cengkareng, Cengkareng, West\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have taken one suspect with the initials O into custody,\u201d said\nthe Head of Cengkareng Police, Adjunct Commissioner Rahis Fadhillah, to\nreporters at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
Rahis explained that the case, which was captured on closed-circuit\ntelevision (CCTV), came to light after the victim reported it to the\npolice.<\/p>\n
The theft began when a witness, who is also an employee, parked the\nvehicle directly in front of the stall on 10 June 2026 at around 8pm\nWestern Indonesian Time (WIB).<\/p>\n
Then, at around 10pm WIB, the CCTV at the location recorded the\nmotorcycle being ridden away by the suspect O.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect took advantage of the situation, as the complainant was\nserving customers at the time,\u201d said Rahis.<\/p>\n
The victim then reported the incident to Cengkareng Police. Upon\nreceiving the report, the Criminal Investigation Unit immediately moved\nto the scene to investigate and examine the CCTV footage.<\/p>\n
Based on the investigation, police officers subsequently located the\nperpetrator in the Kapuk area of Cengkareng.<\/p>\n
On 18 June 2026, police succeeded in arresting suspect O along with\nthe motorcycle as evidence.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have completed an examination report (BAP) on the perpetrator.\nDuring questioning, it emerged that the perpetrator has never committed\na criminal offence before and is not a repeat offender,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Rahis added that, based on the interrogation, the suspect admitted to\nbrazenly stealing his boss\u2019s motorcycle for economic reasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reason for the theft was economic need, to support his family.\nHis urine test came back negative for drugs,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
