        "content": "<p>The presiding judge, Purwanto S Abdullah, declared the defendant to\nbe detained while reading the verdict at the Central Jakarta Corruption\nCourt on Tuesday (12\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The judge stated that the period of city detention already served by\nIbam would be fully deducted from the four-year prison sentence. The\njudge noted that Ibam\u2019s city detention status had legally ended on 7 May\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that the panel of judges will impose a prison sentence on the\ndefendant and the defendant\u2019s detention period in the form of city\ndetention has legally ended on 7 May 2026, the panel of judges opines\nthat the verdict must order the defendant to be placed in state\ndetention to serve the imposed prison sentence,\u201d the judge stated.<\/p>\n<p>Sentenced to Four Years in Prison<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam was sentenced to four years in\nprison. The judge declared Ibam guilty in the alleged corruption case\nconcerning the procurement of Chromebooks and Chrome Device Management\n(CDM).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeclaring the defendant Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam proven legally and\nconvincingly guilty of committing the criminal act of corruption jointly\nas charged in the subsidiarity indictment,\u201d said the presiding judge\nPurwanto S Abdullah while reading the verdict at the Central Jakarta\nCorruption Court on Tuesday (12\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cImposing on the defendant Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam, therefore, a\nprison sentence of four years,\u201d the judge added.<\/p>\n<p>Ibam was also ordered to pay a fine of Rp 500 million. If the fine is\nnot paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 120 days.<\/p>\n<p>The judge stated that Ibam was guilty of violating Article 3 in\nconjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Offences Law in\nconjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 first of the old Criminal\nCode.<\/p>\n<p>This verdict is far lower than the prosecutors\u2019 demand. Previously,\nIbam was demanded 15 years in prison, a fine of Rp 1 billion\nsubsidiarity 190 days imprisonment.
