Helping migrant

We have read reports about the plight of Indonesian migrant
\nwomen workers in Saudi Arabia and some other countries. I believe
\nthe government and the Indonesian labor recruitment companies are
\nfully responsible for this matter.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, the Office of the
\nState Minister for the Empowerment of Women and the foreign
\nministry should come to the fore in defense of Indonesian
\ncitizens facing trouble abroad. They can provide these citizens
\nwith diplomatic assistance based on international law.
\nUnfortunately, the Office of the State Minister for the
\nEmpowerment of Women has stayed away from the settlement of
\nproblems related to Indonesian migrant women workers.<\/p>\n
Labor recruitment companies, which enjoy a commission for
\nsending these workers abroad, should also provide legal defense
\nfor Indonesian (women) migrant workers facing trouble overseas.<\/p>\n
The president of the Philippines has given a good example in
\nthis regard. She herself has come to the defense of Filipino
\ncitizens facing trouble abroad. The state should not simply draft
\nnew legislation. It must be remembered that part of the state's
\nbudget comes from the earnings of our migrant workers. It is only
\nproper that the government helps them when they are in trouble.<\/p>\n
