Intelligence officer bludgeoned to death<\/p>\n

A military intelligence officer from the Wirasakti Military
\nCommand died here on Wednesday night after being beaten by five
\nyouths.<\/p>\n
East Nusa Tenggara Police chief Brig. Gen. Edward Aritonang
\nsaid on Thursday the preliminary investigation indicated the
\ndispute began over a minor understanding.<\/p>\n
One of the five suspects in the murder, Kosmas Damianus,
\nturned himself in to officers. Police are searching for the other
\nfour suspects.<\/p>\n
Police sources say the incident began when a group of young
\npeople were planning a party in Pati Somba subdistrict, Sikka
\nregency. Kosmas was given the job of buying alcohol for the party
\nat a store owned by the father-in-law of the victim.<\/p>\n
Kosmas reportedly became involved in a quarrel with the
\nvictim's mother-in-law over prices and threatened the woman.<\/p>\n
When the victim, First Sgt. Olivio De Rosensoa, heard about
\nthe incident he rushed over to where the youths were holding
\ntheir party on the outskirts of Kupang.<\/p>\n
He immediately became involved in a physical confrontation
\nwith five youths, who allegedly beat the victim to death.<\/p>",
