RI takes bronzes in
\nbiology Olympiad<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Indonesia won three bronze medals at the
\nInternational Biology Olympiad held this week at the University
\nof Queensland, Brisbane, it was reported on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The medals were awarded to three senior high school students:
\nMulyono and Budi CH -- both from Kediri in East Java -- as well
\nas Ni Komang Darmiyastini from Singaraja, Bali.<\/p>\n
Indonesia sent four students to compete against participants
\nfrom 43 countries.<\/p>\n
Bronze medals were also awarded to students from Belarus,
\nBelgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, India, Iran, Latvia,
\nMexico, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, the Netherlands,
\nTurkey, Turkmenistan and the Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Last year, Indonesia also picked up three bronze medals in the
\nOlympiad in Belarus.<\/p>\n
Indonesia took part in the biology Olympiad in 2000 in Turkey,
\nin 2001 in Belgium, and in 2002 in Latvia. -- Antara<\/p>\n

RI urges stop to
\nWest Bank wall<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Indonesia has urged the United Nations Security
\nCouncil and its General Assembly to take measures against
\nIsrael's construction of a wall in the West Bank, in the case
\nthat the Jewish state ignored the International Court of Justice
\n(ICJ) decision.<\/p>\n
Indonesian Permanent Representative to the UN Rezlan Ishar
\nJenie made the statement during the UN's 10th emergency session
\non Friday in New York, which included discussion on Israel's
\nconstruction of the wall in Palestinian territory and the ICJ's
\ndecision on the issue.<\/p>\n
The ICJ recently ruled that the construction was against the
\nlaw and thus must be halted.<\/p>\n
Israel has so far defied the ICJ verdict and has continued
\nbuilding the wall.<\/p>\n
