Police develop new theory on Levina murder<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Police said they believe that six-year-old
\nLevina Dwisy, whose body was found at Ancol Dreamland in North
\nJakarta, was murdered by hired killers paid by a lover of the
\ngirl's father.<\/p>\n
\"Unfortunately, Levina's father did not want to tell us the
\ntruth about his love affair,\" chief of the North Jakarta police
\nprecinct, Lt. Col. Heru Susanto, told reporters yesterday.<\/p>\n
\"We are now focusing our investigation on this love affair
\nissue,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Levina, the second of three children of an ethnic Chinese
\nbicycle shop owner, left her house on Jl. Pantai Sanur in the
\nplush Ancol Timur real estate complex on the morning of March 24.<\/p>\n
Wearing her pajamas, the little girl rode her bike to try and
\nfind her parents during their morning exercise. It was the last
\ntime she was seen alive.<\/p>\n
Levina was found under some bushes near a temple the next
\nmorning with her bicycle nearby.<\/p>\n
Her attacker had apparently used her clothes to strangle her.
\nAccording to the coroner's examination, she had been raped.<\/p>\n
Previously, Heru said, Levina's father, named two of his
\nlovers to the police investigators.<\/p>\n
\"However, we found no evidence to connect the two woman with
\nthe murder,\" he said.<\/p>\n
\"But we believe that there is a woman who had a special
\nrelationship with Levina's father who had been angry with him
\nbecause of something, maybe because she found that the man she
\nfell in love with was married,\" Heru said.<\/p>\n
Five special teams have been established to help police
\ninvestigate, with each team assigned to a specific task.<\/p>\n
At least 13 people have been questioned including two
\nfishermen living nearby, the housemaids and the driver of the
\nvictim's family as well as the security guards at the elite
\nhousing complex where the deceased's parents live. (bsr)<\/p>",
