        "content": "<p>JP\/3\/dpd<\/p>\n<p>DPD candidate sentenced for fake document<\/p>\n<p>Suherdjoko <br>\nThe Jakarta Post <br>\nSemarang<\/p>\n<p>The Semarang District Court has sentenced Siti Fatimah to three <br>\nmonths in jail and fined her Rp 3 million (US$352.9) for using <br>\nfake documents for her candidacy as a member of the Regional <br>\nRepresentatives Council (DPD).<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Judge Edy Sudarmahono said that Fatimah had violated <br>\nLaw No.12\/2003 on elections.<\/p>\n<p>Nur Hidayat Sardini, the chairman of the Elections Supervisory <br>\nCommittee (Panwaslu) in Central Java, said that the case was the <br>\nfirst of its kind nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Edy said that Fatimah had been proved to have <br>\nincluded several names on a list of people supporting his <br>\ncandidacy as a DPD member without their consent.<\/p>\n<p>Anton Sujarwo, Andi Surya Saputra and Irfani, who were among <br>\nthe people listed as Fatimah&apos;s supporters, denied the claim and <br>\nsaid that they had never been contacted by Fatimah.<\/p>\n<p>Edy said that Fatimah was cooperative during the trial process <br>\nand that had been taken into account by the court.<\/p>",
