\nPoso parents mourn, urge police to resolve latest killing<\/p>\n

Lying helplessly in hospital, the stab wound on her face covered
\nwith antiseptics and gauze, the girl cries out in pain.<\/p>\n
Noviana Malewa, 15, was one of four high school girls attacked
\nby unidentified assailants on Saturday morning in Poso Sulawesi.
\nThe three other girls, who were also Noviana's cousins, were
\nbeheaded.<\/p>\n
Noviana, a student of a Christian school in Poso escaped the
\nambush.<\/p>\n
She has not been told about the beheadings.<\/p>\n
\"I only told her that her three cousins had been admitted to
\nTentena Hospital,\" Noviana's mother Nur Malewa told The Jakarta
\nPost on Monday at the Central Sulawesi Police hospital,
\nBhayangkara.<\/p>\n
A moment later, she broke down in tears.<\/p>\n
\"What did my daughter do to deserve this?\" Nur said.<\/p>\n
She recalled how the four girls -- Noviana, Theresia Morangke,
\n15, Alfita Poliwo, 17, and Yarni Sambue, 15 -- had traveled to
\nand from school together.<\/p>\n
The fathers of the three dead girls described them as
\nspirited, active and popular young women who had done well at
\nschool.<\/p>\n
Theresia's father Hendrius Morangke said his daughter
\nhad been obedient and pious, rarely missing church.<\/p>\n
\"I will never forget -- she always made me coffee, every
\nsingle morning. Now that she's gone, I can only cry,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Markus Sambue said it was agony to know that he could never
\nagain hear the angelic voice of his girl, Yarni, who had been a
\nmember of the church choir.<\/p>\n
\"I really loved her voice. Lord in Heaven, please accept her
\nby your side,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The mourning parents said they were not seeking to avenge the
\nkillings. Nor were they suspicious of any one group, meaning
\nMuslims in particular.<\/p>\n
\"We're certain the perpetrators wanted to bring violence to
\nPoso. We will never again be provoked,\" Nur said.<\/p>\n
She said she only hoped her daughter would get better and the
\nassailants would be brought to justice.<\/p>\n
\"We are not asking for much. The police shouldn't be idle --
\nthey have to arrest the perpetrators, we have suffered enough.\"<\/p>\n
Minister Renaldy Damanik, who heads the synod of the Central
\nSulawesi Christian Church, said the assailants were not Muslims
\nfrom Poso, where some 2,000 people were killed in a bloody
\nsectarian war in 2001-2002.<\/p>\n
He said the killers had been acting on the instructions of a
\ncertain group who wanted to refuel hatred between Muslims and
\nChristians.<\/p>\n
Noted local Muslim cleric Adnan Arsal voiced the same concern,
\nsaying the police should not be quick to blame Muslim
\ncommunities.<\/p>\n
Central Sulawesi Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Rais D. Adam
\nsaid that police had questioned six witnesses, including Noviana,
\na mother and her 10-year-old child.<\/p>\n
Rais, however, added that the results of the investigation
\ncould not yet be made public.<\/p>",
