\nthe construction site recently that the company was developing 23
\nluxury villas. \"This is our first stage. We shall continue
\nbuilding the other 18.\"<\/p>\n
Designed by Sydney-based architect Robert Nation, the villas
\nemploy Balinese architectural styles, using local materials such
\nas alang-alang (savanna grass) for roofs and coconut wood for
\ncolumns.<\/p>\n
Nestling in the heart of Jimbaran Bay, the planned villas are
\nonly a 15-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport in
\nKuta. With stunning, breathtaking views overlooking Jimbaran Bay,
\nChedi Villas offers a heavenly atmosphere.<\/p>\n
The villas are set well back from the road, providing owners
\nand guests complete privacy. Each villa is protected by a private
\ncompound and may be accessed through a private entrance leading
\nto landscaped gardens and a swimming pool.<\/p>\n
\"We have tried to create a tropical scene with lush,
\nlandscaped gardens and an environmentally-friendly complex,\"
\nexclaimed Murdoch while showing the construction work at
\nJimbaran.<\/p>\n
To maintain the gardens and to provide the property with
\nhygienic water, the management has built its own water processing
\nplant as well as an international-standard sewage system.<\/p>\n
The interior of each villa will be carefully finished by noted
\ninterior designer Jaya Ibrahim , while the landscaping is being
\ncarried out by Australia-based Tract Consultants.<\/p>\n
Each villa will comprise separate living and dining rooms,
\nair-conditioned bedrooms with spectacular outdoor bathroom,
\nprivate swimming pool and 24-hour staff service.<\/p>\n
\"We also plan to equip each villa with a high-quality TV and
\nBang and Olufsen stereo to provide owners with world-class
\nentertainment facilities,\" he added.<\/p>\n
When finished, Murdoch said, the Chedi Villas will be managed
\nby General Hotel Management (GHM), Asia's leading hotel
\nmanagement company, which also manages The Legian Bali, The
\nStrand in Yangon, The Setai in Miami, and The Chedis in Muscat,
\nPukhet and Chiang Mai.<\/p>\n
Entering the main villa building, which is the model for all
\nthe planned villas, is like entering a traditional Balinese
\ncompound, with contemporary touches here and there.<\/p>\n
Most furniture for the house has been especially designed and
\nmanufactured in Yogyakarta for Warwick Purser Lifestyle and Out
\nof Asia.<\/p>\n
The spacious bedroom is styled with simple decoration.
\nSolid partition walls were erected to separate bed and bath
\nareas. The 2.4-meter teak panel incorporates a full-width mirror
\nto the bathroom.<\/p>\n
Decorated with terrazzo double basins, the bathroom is clean
\nand neat. \"We wanted to use the best materials in our villas,
\ncombining beauty and comfort,\" Robert said.<\/p>\n
