DENPASAR: Accor Hotel & Resort in Bali and Lombok is showing its
\ngratitude to 50 partner travel agencies with an elegant cruise
\nextravaganza featuring dinner on Lembongan island.<\/p>\n
Participants will depart from Benoa harbor for Lembongan
\nisland, where they will enjoy a special cocktail dinner and a
\nspectacular fireworks show. A nautical theme will add sparkle to
\nthe night, with Accor team members decked out in sailor outfits
\nand other seafaring accessories.<\/p>\n
Accor regional general manager for Bali and Lombok, Michel

Ubud Hanging Gardens
\nto open on July 1<\/p>\n
DENPASAR: Niche hotel owner and operator Pansea Orient-Express
\nHotels announced the imminent opening of its latest resort
\nproperty, the Ubud Hanging Gardens in Bali. The property will
\nopen on July 1 this year.<\/p>\n
Surrounded by ancient trees and gravity-defying terraced
\ngardens, this extraordinary haven nestles on a hillside
\noverlooking the Ayung River gorge, and truly deserves its unusual
\nname.<\/p>\n
Perched adjacent to steep rice terraces looking out to a
\ntemple (Pura Penataran Dalem Segara) on the opposite hill, the
\nbreathtaking property's 38 villas are all constructed in
\ncontemporary Balinese style with thatched alang-alang roofs.<\/p>\n
The villas are set high on wooden pillars with king-sized
\nfour-poster beds, indoor baths, outdoor showers and dramatic
\nindividual plunge pools.<\/p>\n
The garden, conceived by the landscape architect William
\nWarren (author of Balinese Garden, Thames & Hudson), together
\nwith John Pettigrew (another devotee of botanical gardens who
\ncreated the garden at the Begawan Giri), is truly unique.<\/p>\n
Nature becomes a spectacle here, with exotic trees and
\nessences of the tropics -- cocoa, coffee, fruit trees, durian,
\nrambutan, lychees, a variety of tropical bamboos, flame trees,
\nbird of paradise flowers and orchids.<\/p>\n
The Anglo-French architect Gordon Shaw respected the group's
\ndesire to protect the environment and utilized only local
\nmaterials: alang-alang as roofing, local Batu Jaember wood, Java
\nstone in the pools, batiks, cottons and Palimanan mural stone.
