        "content": "<p>JP\/17\/SIDE<\/p>\n<p>Korean Center established at UII<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: In cooperation with Pai Chai University of South <br>\nKorea, the Yogyakarta-based Indonesian Islamic University (UII) <br>\nlaunched recently the Center for Korean Studies (CKS) at its <br>\nDemangan Baru campus compound.<\/p>\n<p>The official opening ceremony of the center was marked with <br>\nthe signing of a plaque by UII rector Luthfi Hasan and president <br>\nof Pai Chai University Soon Hoon Chung.<\/p>\n<p>According to Akhmad Muftizar Zawawi of the university&apos;s public <br>\nrelations department, the center will later be developed into a <br>\nlibrary and an information center for students.<\/p>\n<p>At present the center houses books, magazines, cassettes and <br>\nvideos about Korea and other related subjects. The interior of <br>\nthe center is designed to reflect Korean tastes. --JP<\/p>\n<p>Yogyakarta gears up for tourism expo<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: Following the success of hosting last year&apos;s Tourism <br>\nIndonesia Mart and Expo (TIME), or Pasar Wisata Indonesia as it <br>\nis more popularly known here, Yogyakarta is ready to host TIME <br>\n2005 this Sept. 23 to Sept. 26.<\/p>\n<p>According to a release made available to The Jakarta Post, <br>\nTIME 2005 will accommodate the interests of those who sell <br>\nIndonesia&apos;s tourism products and services on the international <br>\nmarket.<\/p>\n<p>The event will promote many of the country&apos;s tourist <br>\nattractions including popular tourist destinations, top tourist <br>\nactivities and new tourism products.<\/p>\n<p>The organizing committee has so far registered 126 sellers  <br>\nrepresenting 20 provinces across Indonesia and 86 buyer delegates <br>\nrepresenting 26 countries including Australia, South Africa, the <br>\nNetherlands, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, China, India, Italy, <br>\nGermany, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Saudi <br>\nArabia, Singapore, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, the U.S. <br>\nand Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>Last year&apos;s event was participated in by 102 buyers from 28 <br>\ncountries and 147 sellers representing 20 provinces from across <br>\nIndonesia. --JP<\/p>\n<p>BBY celebrates 23rd anniversary<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: Commemorating its 23rd anniversary, which will fall <br>\non Sept. 26 this year, Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta has prepared a <br>\nseries of events and programs for the whole month.<\/p>\n<p>The &quot;Megolitikum Yu Tum Part One&quot; concert featuring, among <br>\nothers, Jaduk Ferianto&apos;s Sinten Remen Keroncong Orchestra and <br>\nlocal comedians Hedro Pleret and Gareng Rakasiwi opens the whole <br>\nseries of programs on Sept. 2.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Megolitikum Yu Tum Part Two&quot; will be performed on Sept. 12, <br>\nwhile &quot;Part Three&quot; will be performed on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n<p>Other events include painting exhibitions Tanda Mata V,  Ayo <br>\nNgguyu and Pencerahan; graphic art exhibition Muur Jangkung; <br>\nphoto exhibition Ayo Ngguyu, and a traditional drama or Kethoprak <br>\nperformance featuring noted comedians such as Marwoto, Den Baguse <br>\nNgarso and Yu Beruk.<\/p>\n<p>A film screening at the month&apos;s end will conclude the <br>\ncelebration.
