\n'RCTI' to air 'Fear Factor Indonesia'<\/p>\n
Following success reaped from airing NBC's Fear Factor, private
\ntelevision station Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia is
\nchallenging local participants to take part in a thrilling Fear
\nFactor Indonesia (FFI) competition.<\/p>\n
The first episode of FFI will be aired on Saturday Nov. 19,
\n2005, at 10 p.m. Six beautiful models, contestants for the first
\nepisode, competed in three games to select one winner -- the most
\nfearless -- who would bag the Rp 50 million cash prize.<\/p>\n
Actor-cum-model Agatsya Kandau will host the program.<\/p>\n
In a statement made available to The Jakarta Post, one of the
\ncontestants, Devina, said her initial reason for taking up the
\noffer to compete was that she was simply curious about the
\nprogram.<\/p>\n
She was a huge fan of NBC's Fear Factor. and has long wanted
\nto conquer her own fear within.<\/p>\n
One of the challenges in the first episode was to be buried
\nwith worms. Devine clocked the best time, although she admitted,
\n"I didn't know how I did that because I'm afraid of worms."<\/p>\n
RCTI said that those interested in taking up the challenges
\nmust enroll via its website www.fearfactor-indonesia.com.<\/p>\n
"After we select the participants, we shall have an audition
\nhere. Six people who make it to this phase will go to Malaysia to
\nshoot the program," said the station's media relations official
\nHafni S. Damayanti.<\/p>\n
Participants are expected to have at least one thing that he
\nor she fears, like a fear of heights, vehicles, water, speed,
\ninsects, or certain animals because the games will not only be
\nabout physical but also mental stamina.<\/p>\n
Program production will be done along with that for Fear
\nFactor Malaysia and Fear Factor India.<\/p>\n
Getting the license from Fear Factor International, which is
\nproduced by Cross Media Service, RCTI claimed the program would
\nbe the most expensively produced program ever by the station --
\nand in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
"The expatriate team, standardized properties from Fear Factor
\nInternational and stunt coordinators Francois Grobelaar and H.B.
\nNaveen are with us to guarantee the safety of the participants,"
