        "content": "<p>JP\/12\/REAX<\/p>\n<p>RI condemns London attacks, no Indonesian injured so far<\/p>\n<p>Ivy Susanti<br>\nThe Jakarta Post\/Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian government has condemned the terrorist attacks  <br>\nin London on Thursday, in which 33 people were confirmed killed <br>\nand hundreds injured.<\/p>\n<p>Marty Natalegawa, foreign ministry spokesman, said the <br>\ngovernment had been shocked by the news and offered its sympathy <br>\nto the victims of the blast, which rocked the London subway and <br>\nripped open at least one packed double-decker bus during the <br>\nmorning rush hour.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We are appalled by the news of the terrible acts of terrorism <br>\nthat struck London. We condemn these acts, which remind us that <br>\nsuch acts of terrorism can strike any place at any time, causing <br>\ngreat suffering to innocents. We express our sympathy to those <br>\nwho have lost their family members and friends in the explosions <br>\nand pray for the wounded, for their speedy recovery,&quot; he told The <br>\nJakarta Post on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He confirmed that an Indonesian, Agus Warcoko, had sustained a <br>\nminor injury in the blast. Agus, the deputy general manager of <br>\nthe London branch of Bank Negara Indonesia, was on the bus when <br>\nthe explosion occurred.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;He is being treated at a nearby hotel, which is also <br>\nsheltering many victims who suffered minor injuries,&quot; Marty, who <br>\nhas been nominated for the post of ambassador to the United <br>\nKingdom and Ireland, said.<\/p>\n<p>The blasts took place in four places -- three at busy <br>\nunderground train stations and one on the bus, according to BBC <br>\nNews. The explosions hit the Aldgate East-Liverpool Street Tube <br>\nStations, Edgware Road Tube Station, King&apos;s Cross Tube-Russel <br>\nSquare and on a bus that was cruising on Woburn Place, which is <br>\nclose to Russel Square.<\/p>\n<p>British Prime Minister Tony Blair told a press conference in <br>\nthe middle of the Group of Eight industrialized countries summit <br>\nin Gleneagles, Scotland, that &quot;it is reasonably clear that there <br>\nhave been a series of terrorist attacks in London&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Marty said the embassy in UK had warned, after the attacks, <br>\nIndonesian nationals to remain alert.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian Embassy is located in the vicinity of Grosvenor <br>\nSquare, across from the U.S. Embassy. Eddy Pratomo, charge <br>\nd&apos;affaires at the Indonesian Embassy, said that both embassies <br>\nremained alert to any possible security threat.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The U.S. embassy is getting well-prepared. So are we,&quot; he <br>\nsaid over the telephone from London.<\/p>\n<p>He said the embassy was cooperating with the UK foreign <br>\nministry to get the latest updates on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Eddy said that mobile communications crashed in the aftermath <br>\nof the explosions. &quot;Our mobile connections are jammed. We are <br>\nexperiencing difficulties in getting information about the <br>\nsituation,&quot; he said.<\/p>",
