        "content": "<p>Journo&apos;s attacker to be punished<\/p>\n<p>DILI, East Java: Prosecution yesterday demanded eight months<br>\nimprisonment for Liban Cavin Soares, 15, for allegedly beating<br>\nTiras magazine reporter Gaudensius Mau last year.<\/p>\n<p>Antara reported that prosecutor Eko Purwanto at the Dili<br>\nDistrict Court said that Soares had, with the help of other<br>\npeople, committed the violence. The court session was presided<br>\nover by SJ Maramis.<\/p>\n<p>Soares&apos; lawyer Perry Wilson said the punishment was too harsh<br>\nfor his client who had only &quot;joined in&quot; the violence.<\/p>\n<p>Soares was the last of five defendants in the case; the other<br>\nfour had been sentenced to 10 months each last month.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened on the night of Nov. 17 last year when<br>\nthe three assaulted Gaudensius after mistaking him for a police<br>\ninformant.<\/p>\n<p>The culprits attacked Gaudensius near the Virgin Mary park<br>\nafter someone spotted him and shouted &quot;informant&quot;, the verdict<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The attackers fled after a police patrol passed by.
