        "content": "<p>Journo murder trial to continue<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: A court here ruled yesterday to proceed with the<br>\ntrial of Dwi Sumadji, alias Iwik, who allegedly killed Bernas<br>\njournalist Fuad M. Syafruddin last year.<\/p>\n<p>The district court of Bantul, a small town 15 kilometers south<br>\nof here, rejected Iwik's rebuttal statement that the police had<br>\ncoerced him to admit to killing Fuad, alias Udin, before<br>\narresting him.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding judge Mikaela said the court agreed with the<br>\nprosecution that Iwik should have filed his complaint over the<br>\npolice's alleged violation in arrest procedures, in a pretrial<br>\ncourt hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Udin was beaten to death in August last year in Bantul. Many<br>\nbelieved his death was related to several critical articles he<br>\nwrote regarding local government policies.<\/p>\n<p>The trial will resume next Tuesday. (23)<\/p>",
