        "content": "<p>Journalists to get election training<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: In a bid to ensure accountable media coverage in the<br>\n2004 elections, a press institute is planning to launch an<br>\neducation program for senior journalists from the electronic and<br>\nprint media from March 10 through March 14.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Soetomo Journalism Training Institute said that the<br>\ntraining was aimed at boosting the participation of the media in<br>\nmonitoring the coming elections.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This campaign is the contribution from the press to uphold a<br>\nfree and fair election,&quot; said the head of Dr. Soetomo Journalism<br>\nTraining Institute, Tribuana Said, adding that the 2004 elections<br>\nwere crucial in charting the future of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The training, which will be held in Purwakarta, West Java,<br>\nwill concentrate on details of the election process, including<br>\nelection campaigning and vote counting.<\/p>\n<p>The program will also train journalists to detect possible<br>\nviolations of the election rules and corruption and bribery<br>\nmethods in the elections.<\/p>\n<p>Participants for the training seminar need to be nominated by<br>\ntheir respective press associations. --JP<\/p>",
