The Baleendah Police Station has detained an individual identified by\nthe initials G, a self-proclaimed journalist, who is suspected of\nthreatening residents and traders using an airsoft gun.<\/p>\n
The Chief of Baleendah Police, AKP Hendri Noki Rukmansyah, stated\nthat the suspect was apprehended after residents reported instances of\ncoercion and threats in the Baleendah Market area, Bandung Regency.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe individual claimed to be a journalist and was extorting members\nof the public by accusing them of selling illegal liquor (miras),\nthreatening to make the news go viral if his demands were not met,\u201d\nHendri said on Thursday, 3 September 2026.<\/p>\n
Hendri explained that a kiosk owner, who denied selling illegal\nalcohol, refused to comply with the suspect\u2019s demands, prompting the\nsuspect to threaten to expose the establishment online.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, at\napproximately 11:00 PM WIB, when the suspect arrived at the location\nreportedly in a state of intoxication.<\/p>\n
Upon conducting a search, police discovered one airsoft gun along\nwith steel BB ammunition, as well as press business cards from three\ndifferent media outlets.<\/p>\n
According to witness testimony, the suspect brandished the weapon and\nissued threats against the victim during the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is correct. During the act of intimidation, witnesses observed\nthe suspect brandishing the airsofter gun,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect may have\npreviously engaged in extortion within the Baleendah Police jurisdiction\nby impersonating a journalist.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, police tests revealed that the suspect\u2019s urine tested\npositive for amphetamine and benzodiazepine (benzo), which formed part\nof the investigation into the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the examination, the suspect tested positive for\namphetamine and Benzo. It was also discovered that he frequently engaged\nin extortion while claiming to be a journalist in the Baleendah area,\u201d\nhe added.<\/p>\n
The suspect is currently being held at the Baleendah Police Station,\nwhile one victim has filed a formal report.
