JORR section to be completed in July<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Toll road operator PT Jasa Marga is expected to complete
\nthe first part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) by July this
\nyear.<\/p>\n
The company spokesman, Satria Genefanto said that all segments
\nof the first part of JORR could be completed by July 2003 after
\nthe company reached an agreement on land clearence for the
\nconstruction of the Veteran-Ulujami segment.<\/p>\n
Because of the land clearence, he said PT Jasa Marga had
\nsuspended the tender for the construction of the eight-kilometer
\nsegment.<\/p>\n
\"We have to do land clearence first before starting
\nconstruction work,\" he said as quoted by Antara.<\/p>\n
He said the construction of the Veteran-Ulujami segment had
\noriginally been scheduled for completion in August, and the
\nconstruction of the TMII Junction-Ceger in East Jakarta, Ceger-
\nJalan Raya Hankam, and Pondok Pinang-Veteran segments in South
\nJakarta in July.<\/p>\n
He said the second part of JORR would include the Hankam-
\nJatiasih and Jatiasih-Cikunir segments.<\/p>\n
Hopefully, building contractors will submit their bid for the
\nconstruction of the second part to the tender committee early in
\nDecember, he said.<\/p>\n
\"By the end of December 2003, the tender winner can be
\nannounced and construction work can be started early in January
\n2004. We aim to complete it (the second part) by the end of
