PHNOM PENH, Cambodia: Cambodia's prime minister on Tuesday
\noffered Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie Cambodian citizenship in
\nrecognition for her nature conservation work in this poverty
\nstricken country.<\/p>\n
Jolie, who arrived Tuesday on an unannounced two-day visit,
\nsaid she would accept the citizenship if given. She did not
\nelaborate or talk about her current U.S. citizenship. Cambodia
\nallows dual citizenship.<\/p>\n
Jolie, who adopted her Cambodian son Maddox two years ago,
\nsaid Prime Minister Hun Sen made the citizenship proposal during
\ntheir talks Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\"He did mention giving me Cambodian citizenship, and I would
\nbe honored, I think. I would certainly be thrilled. So I'm sure
\nI'll be moving forward to actually receiving that,\" she told
\nreporters after the meeting.<\/p>\n
Jolie, traveling with Maddox, said took him to visit the home
\nshe built for themselves in Samlaut.<\/p>\n
\"He's wonderful. I always want to bring Maddox back to
\nCambodia as often as possible because I want him to know he's
\nCambodian and be proud of that,\" she said, adding that she is
\nalso looking for a Cambodian-language teacher to teach her son.
