Former President Joko Widodo has denied claims that he provided a sum\nof money to Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar regarding the alleged fake diploma\ncase. Jokowi deemed the rumour illogical and reversed in its logic.<\/p>\n
The rumour surfaced following Rismon Sianipar\u2019s application for\nrestorative justice (RJ) to the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda),\nalleging that Jokowi paid up to Rp 50 billion related to the fake\ndiploma matter.<\/p>\n
According to Jokowi, several parties currently designated as suspects\nin the alleged defamation and defamation of honour case concerning the\nfake diploma accusations have submitted RJ requests to investigators at\nPolda Metro Jaya. In that process, he stated that those parties were\nalso required to express apologies to him as the accused and aggrieved\nparty.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe logic is, these individuals are suspects, then they request RJ\nfrom Polda Metro Jaya, from the investigators, because the authority\nlies there. But they must apologise to the accused, to me,\u201d Jokowi said\nwhen met at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari Subdistrict, Solo, on\nFriday, 10 April 2026.<\/p>\n
However, a narrative emerged claiming that Jokowi was instead giving\nmoney to the parties who accused him. Yet in this case, his position is\nas the accused party. He questioned this development.<\/p>\n
\u201cWould the accused be the one giving money? What\u2019s the logic in that?\nBecause they are suspects, they come here, we forgive them. Why would I\nbe the one giving money? What\u2019s the logic?\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Logically, according to Jokowi, those who became suspects in the case\nshould be the ones paying him to be forgiven. \u201cThey should be the ones\npaying me to be forgiven. That\u2019s the logic; don\u2019t reverse it. Especially\nsuch a large amount of money,\u201d Jokowi said.<\/p>\n
Previously, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar was known to have applied for\nresolution of the alleged diploma defamation case through the RJ\nmechanism. In that process, he also visited Jokowi directly in Solo.<\/p>\n
Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya,\nCommissioner General Iman Imanuddin, explained that Rismon, along with\nhis legal counsel Jahmada Girsang, had submitted a letter requesting\nfacilitation for restorative justice to the investigators.<\/p>\n
\u201cA few days ago, RHS and his lawyer submitted a request for\nrestorative justice facilitation to the investigators,\u201d Iman said at\nMetro Jaya Police Headquarters, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.<\/p>\n
In this case, investigators from Polda Metro Jaya have named eight\nindividuals as suspects. They are Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar,\nTifa Fauziah Tyassuma, Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Royani, Damai Hari\nLubis, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.<\/p>\n
The police divided these suspects into two clusters. The first\ncluster consists of Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Royani, Damai Hari Lubis,\nRustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah. They are charged under\nArticles 310 and\/or 311 and\/or 160 of the Criminal Code, as well as\nprovisions in the ITE Law, including Article 27A in conjunction with\nArticle 45 paragraph (4) and Article 28 paragraph (2) in conjunction\nwith Article 45A paragraph (2).<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the second cluster includes Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan\nSianipar, and Dr.\u00a0Tifa. They are charged under Articles 310 and\/or 311\nof the Criminal Code, as well as several articles in the ITE Law, among\nthem Article 32 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 48 paragraph\n(1), Article 35 in conjunction with Article 51 paragraph (1), Article\n27A in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (4), and Article 28\nparagraph (2) in conjunction with Article 45A paragraph (2).<\/p>\n
In another development, the police previously issued letters of\ndiscontinuation of investigation (SP3) against Eggi Sudjana and Damai\nHari Lubis in mid-January.
