        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - \u201cGhost in the Cell,\u201d directed by Joko Anwar,\nreceived an enthusiastic reception from audiences at its premiere\nscreening at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival\n(Berlinale).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGhost in the Cell\u201d was screened four times during the international\nfilm festival held in Berlin, Germany, from 13 to 22 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release from the filmmakers received in Jakarta\non Tuesday, tickets for all screenings of the film sold out.<\/p>\n<p>Audiences laughed freely, screamed, and applauded whilst watching\n\u201cGhost in the Cell\u201d at Berlinale 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Joko Anwar explored supernatural horror elements to deliver something\ninescapable within an entertaining viewing experience through \u201cGhost in\nthe Cell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to make a film that is truly entertaining. But when the\nfilm ends, there will be thoughts that stick in their minds about the\nsituation of living in Indonesia,\u201d said the screenwriter and\ndirector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our most entertaining film to date, but it is also\nreflective,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Producer Tia Hasibuan said that the story of \u201cGhost in the Cell\u201d\nreflects the dynamics occurring in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, upon seeing the response of audiences from outside\nIndonesia at Berlinale, it turns out this satirical horror comedy also\nresonates with them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope this positive reception continues when the film is released\nin Indonesia on 16 April 2026,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGhost in the Cell\u201d is the latest work by Joko Anwar, who late last\nyear received the cultural honour of Chevalier de l\u2019Ordre des Arts et\ndes Lettres from the French Government.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, he directed \u201cPengepungan di Bukit Duri\u201d (Siege at Bukit\nDuri), which won five Citra Awards at the 2025 Indonesian Film Festival\nand garnered three awards at the Tempo Film Choice Festival.<\/p>",
