        "content": "<p>A joint team evacuated 150 passengers from the KM Makmur Jaya after\nthe vessel experienced engine trouble in waters west of Pulau Pari,\nSouth Seribu Islands, on Sunday morning. Head of the Seribu Islands\nRegional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Mansyah, stated that the\nevacuation proceeded smoothly thanks to coordination among all involved\nelements and support from local residents. Upon receiving the report,\nthe joint team immediately moved to the location to ensure the safety of\nall passengers. All 150 passengers were successfully evacuated in safe\ncondition and received health checks after arriving at Pulau Pari.\nFollowing the health checks, the passengers were dispatched to their\nfinal destination, Pulau Pramuka, using a BPBD vessel. Passenger safety\nis the top priority. After confirming all passengers were in good\ncondition, they were facilitated to continue their journey to Pulau\nPramuka. There were no fatalities in the incident. Material losses are\nestimated at around Rp50 million. The KM Makmur Jaya remains under\nfurther handling by the relevant authorities. The 51 GT passenger\ntransport vessel had departed from Kali Adem Port, North Jakarta, bound\nfor Pulau Pramuka at 08.15 WIB. However, while in waters west of Pulau\nPari at around 09.55 WIB, the vessel experienced a fuel system\ndisruption after water was found mixed into the fuel, preventing the\nengine from operating normally. The incident report was received by\nofficers at around 10.20 WIB. A cross-sector joint team from Pulau Pari,\ncomprising BPBD, the police sub-sector, Bhabinkamtibmas, Satpol PP, the\nPort Authority (KSOP), the Transportation Agency, the Fire Department,\nPK3D, the Environment Unit, the Health Post, and FKDM, immediately\nheaded to the location to carry out the evacuation. Captain of the KM\nMakmur Jaya, Murinan, explained that the disruption occurred because the\nfuel was mixed with water, affecting the ship\u2019s engine performance. Upon\ninspection by the crew, water was found mixed into the fuel, causing the\nengine to malfunction and the vessel unable to continue its voyage.\nPassenger Yuli, 42, admitted to feeling worried when the ship stopped in\nthe middle of the sea but felt relieved after the joint officers arrived\nand carried out the evacuation.<\/p>",
