        "content": "<p>The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) stated that a joint\ntask force successfully extinguished forest and land fires (karhutla)\ncovering three hectares in the Sumedang Regency area, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the BNPB Data, Information and Disaster Communication\nCentre, Abdul Muhari, in Jakarta on Wednesday, said that the rapid\nresponse and handling by the joint officers, consisting of the Regional\nDisaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Fire Service, TNI\/Polri, and related\nagencies, was the main key to preventing the spread of the flames.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks to the rapid handling by the joint team, the fire was\nsuccessfully extinguished,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The joint team, under the coordination of the Sumedang Regency BPBD,\nresponded quickly shortly after receiving fire reports from the\npublic.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, efforts to localise the hotspots were carried out\nin an integrated manner through ground-based water spraying so that the\nspread of the fire to residential areas and other surrounding vegetation\ncould be stopped.<\/p>",
