        "content": "<p>Johol sultan gets royal award from Surakarta <br>\n-------------------------<br>\nKartika Bagus C.<br>\nThe Jakarta Post<br>\nSurakarta<br>\n-------------------------<\/p>\n<p>Sultan Muhammad Abdul bin Alip, the 13th Johol Sultan from <br>\nNegeri Sembilan Malaysia, received on Saturday a royal title from <br>\nthe Surakarta Hadiningrat palace in Central Java in a special <br>\nceremony that coincided with the 58th anniversary of Pakoe <br>\nBoewono XII's enthronement.<\/p>\n<p>The Malaysian sultan received the Kanjeng Pangeran Aryo <br>\nAdipati (KPAA), the second highest royal title given by the <br>\nSurakarta palace.<\/p>\n<p>He was also awarded the royal honor of Paduka Yang Teramat <br>\nMulia.<\/p>\n<p>With the Surakarta royal honor, the Johol sultan's full royal <br>\nname is KPAA Paduka Yang Teramat Mulia Dato Johan Pahlewan Lela <br>\nPerkasa Undang Luak Johol XIII.<\/p>\n<p>Sultan Pakoe Boewono XII led the royal ceremony, which was <br>\nmarked with the traditional Bedhaya Ketawang dance. The Surakarta <br>\nsultan then walked down to the Kamandungan gate to scatter Rp 500 <br>\nand Rp 1,000 coins totaling Rp 5 million in a tradition called <br>\nudhik-udhik.<\/p>\n<p>The tradition is part of an offering, whose philosophy is to <br>\nprovide health, safety and prosperity to the people of Surakarta.<\/p>",
